X Venture Capital is a start-up firm focusing on counter-culture industry segments that have been historically avoided by traditional venture capital companies, such as legal cannabis, alcohol, “adult lifestyle” and gambling. As a fledgling company, they needed a brand that communicated both legitimacy, but also the edgy nature of their target markets. The result was a very minimal, stylish mark that is a little rough around the edges. The business cards are also designed to set XVC apart from the crowd. Using a square format, the front of the card is all black, with the XVC logo appearing in a silky gloss varnish.
